Why are Alpacas such a good investment?
There is no better time than now for the Alpaca Industry. The high demand and limited supply of alpacas has created a continual "breeder´s market". Over the past decade, virtually every type of investment has gone through a down business cycle- but not alpacas. They have been able to maintain a stable market and command the same price. The same prices as they did when there were only a handful in this country and this remains the forecast for the next decade.
Why is the demand so high for Alpacas?
There is a growing demand for alpaca fiber in textile and fashion centers throughout the world and a drastically limited supply of these animals outside their native South American homelands. Additionally, the North American Alpaca Registry, who offers fully blood-typed protection, has closed it´s doors to any newly imported animals.
How many Alpacas do we need to have our own viable fiber market?
To put it into perspective, we currently have roughly 47,000 Alpacas in the U.S. To be able to supply enough fiber to keep just one mill in production for six months we would need the fiber rendering of one million alpacas. At a gestational rate of only one alpaca per year and with a proposed 100% survival rate it would take over ten years to reach one million animals.
Are Alpacas like sheep?
No. Alpaca fiber is far superior to sheep´s wool and very rare in comparison to the overall world production. Additionally, while sheep´s wool will receive an average price of 39 cents per pound, Alpaca fiber commands a price of between two to six dollars per ounce!
What is an Alpacastock Investor?
An Investor that co-owns a group of female Alpacas with AlpacaStock Farm & Investments.
Is there any other breeders offering Alpaca Investment Funds?
Yes & No. AlpacaStock Farm & Investments is the first of it´s kind to offer this program to Alpaca Investors. We have come across others who have and are attempting to take advantage of a good idea but we are confident you will not find a more organized, professional as well as personably run company.
What kind of return can an investor expect from this kind of company?
Using current market conditions, we forecast that an investor who utilizes our program now will enjoy a return from 20 to 80% per year.
Who will run the Company?
The Company will be set-up as a "Manager Run LLC" which will entail both AlpacaStock Farm & Investments and an additional investor who will co-manage the LLC.
Will I have to do any of the work?
Most of the day-to-day details are handled by the Company Managers and you will be notified when decisions need to be made.
How long will the Company last?
The initial start-up commitment is 5-6 years and is defined in the Company´s Operating Agreement.
Is there any money collected up front for the first year´s operating expenses?
Yes. An escrow account is established to cover projected expenses including mortality insurance, agistment costs, veterinary fees, bookkeeping, marketing, etc. This amount is built into the total Investment Fund´s price.
Does AlpacaStock Farm & Investments make money up front?
No. A minimal fee will be collected to cover actual Company start-up costs. The fee will be built into the total package price. Alpacastock does not make a profit from the Company until the rest of the members do-Period.
How are my animals sold?
Alpacastock will have an ongoing sales list of all animals for sale from the Companies that are set at target prices. Utilizing these animals, we will create new investment packages.
Can breeders outside the Network purchase animals?
Yes, all animals will be available for sale at the targeted prices for private treaty sales.
When an animal is sold how is everyone in the Company paid?
After related expenses are paid and anticipated yearly expenses in escrow are met, a dividend will be distributed to each member´s account based upon their contribution percentage.
Can I sell my share of the Company?
Yes. You can sell your interest share in the Company but you cannot sell your voting rights.
Why is my voting right nontransferable?
When a new LLC is created, we select investors that will work well together and we have elected not to create a situation that could potentially jeopardize the cooperative nature of this relationship.
Are there any tax benefits for the Alpacastock Investor?
Yes. You may depreciate your original investment over the life of the fund to offset a portion of the capital gains.
If I die what happens to my share?
Dividends will continue to be paid to your estate for the life of the fund.
What if the one of the animals die?
All investment animals are insured for full mortality and theft through an A+ rated company.
Will you sell males into new packages?
No.
What happens to the males that are born out of the Investment Funds?
The optimal goal is a proper breeding and marketing program that will produce above average males that will command consistently higher prices. These animals will be sold through private treaty sales or if the male in question happens to be an exceptional animal, the Company may opt to retain him for future breeding services. br>
How does the Commission Program work?
10% sales commission will be paid for all qualified referrals that end up in a sale. There is also a 10% commission on the sale of network animals for qualified referrals on private treaty sales.
Can I buy one of my Company´s animals scheduled to be put on the sales list?
Yes.
How do you become an Alpacastock Investor?
The first step would be to get acquainted with the Farm and it's members and from that point decide whether we can mutually benefit from each other for the life of the commitment. When the company reaches its funding capacity, we close out the offering and you are now a member of an Alpaca Investment Limited Liability Corporation.
